  • Moon Counseling is an out-of-network provider, meaning I do not accept insurance. However, you can request a 'superbill' to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. To determine your eligibility, contact your insurance provider and ask if your plan covers out-of-network mental health benefits, whether you have a deductible, and if preauthorization is required.

While it may seem more convenient to use insurance, there are significant advantages to keeping therapy separate from insurance. These include:

    • No permanent diagnosis label attached to your health record.

    • Full confidentiality, ensuring your information is private and not shared with insurance companies.

    • The ability to work together to determine the best treatment plan without external limitations.

This approach allows me to offer more personalized care, free from the constraints of insurance policies, and ensures our work together is focused solely on your well-being.

  • Yes, both! I am available in-person:

    Monday 9am - 5pm
    Tuesday 9am - 5pm
    Wednesday 12pm - 6pm

Virtual sessions are flexible and can be held during my office hours: Monday - Thursday.

  • It’s generally recommended to start with weekly sessions to establish a steady rhythm for growth and healing. Weekly sessions help build trust, maintain regularity, and provide a strong framework as we work together to understand your needs and goals. However, we can adjust the frequency as needed, and depending on your progress and comfort level, we may transition to biweekly sessions or another arrangement that better supports your ongoing journey.

  • I have a 24-hour cancellation and rescheduling policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment will be charged the full session fee. This helps ensure that I can offer the time to another client and make adjustments if needed. Thank you for your understanding!

  • Deciding if therapy is right for you can feel like a big step. Therapy can be helpful if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling with stress, anxiety, or difficult emotions. It’s also a space for personal growth and self-discovery. Therapy isn’t just for when something is ‘wrong’—it can also support you in navigating life’s challenges and understanding yourself better. Feel free to send me a message to talk about this further!

  • The length of time in therapy can vary greatly depending on each person’s unique needs, goals, and circumstances. Some clients find that a few months help them address specific concerns, while others with more complex or long-standing issues, like trauma, may benefit from a longer-term approach. I believe in working collaboratively to set goals and regularly check in on your progress so we can determine what’s best for you. Ultimately, the timeline is flexible, and we’ll adapt it based on what feels most supportive and effective for you.

  • I’m happy to provide brief support or answer questions via email or phone between sessions. I aim to respond within 24-48 hours. However, if you are experiencing a true emergency or mental health crisis, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room. For more in-depth discussions, it’s best to address them during our scheduled sessions so we can make the most of our time together. Please note that considerably extended and frequent communication between sessions may incur an additional fee.
